Weimenhog's 76 leads UNCG in second round at Tar Heel
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – UNC Greensboro junior Annelie Weimenhog carded a second round score of 76 to lead the Spartans in the second day of action at the Tar Heel Invitational on UNC’s Finley Golf Course.
Starting off on No. 10, Weimenhog played the back side of the golf course in 39 with three bogeys, but then played the front side in one-over par 37 with eight pars. It was quite a contrast to Weimenhog’s first round on Saturday when she had nine bogeys and a double bogey to go with one birdie.
Wake Forest leads the team standings with a score of 585, 11 shots better than Virginia and tournament host North Carolina. The Demon Deacons’ Natalie Sheary holds the individual lead at three-under 141 after 36 holes, one shot better than Louisville’s Cindy LaCrosse. Wake Forest has three players in the Top 10, helping them to their team lead. UNCG is in 18th place at 645.
Sunday’s final round will be a shotgun start at 9:15 am.
