MIAMI, Fla. – UNC Greensboro’s women’s golf team kicked off the spring portion of its 2008-09 schedule with an opening round 318 Sunday at the Qdoba Invitational at Don Shula Golf Club.
Junior Sofia Aidemark led the way for the Spartans with an opening round 76, going out in 37 and playing the back 9 in 39. The native of Laholm, Sweden is tied for 24th place in the individual standings, five shots off the pace. Louisville’s Laura Anderson and Georgia State’s Anna Scott each carded rounds of 71 on the Par 72, 6,223-yard course to sit tied atop the leaderboard.
The Spartans are in 12th place with their round of 318. Georgia State holds the team lead at 291, followed by North Carolina State at 294 and Louisville at 299.
Monday’s second round is slated to get underway at 12:30 pm.
