UNCG's Creed named to NGCA Academic Squad
CORAL SPRINGS, FL – UNC Greensboro sophomore to be Erica Creed has been named to the NGCA’s All-American Scholar Team.
Creed was one of 402 women’s golfers in NCAA Divisions I, II and III selected to the squad. The criteria for selection is a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50% (Division I) or 66% (Division II & III) of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Creed, a communications major from Kernersville, NC, had a 3.80 GPA in her first semester at UNCG. She finished second on the team in scoring, with a 76.71 average. She finished in the Top 10 in four out of her 10 starts this season and recorded a pair of Top 5 finishes, including a tie for fifth at the Southern Conference Championship.
Last month, Creed played in the USGA’s Women’s Public Links Championship in Erin, WI, advancing to the second round of match play.
The National Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. Today, the NGCA represents nearly 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
