Ashley Mylton named All-SoCon

CHARLESTON, SC – UNC Greensboro’s Ashley Mylton was named to the Southern Conference’s 11-person all-conference squad when postseason honors were announced earlier this week at the conference championship.

Mylton, a junior from Charlotte, NC and product of South Mecklenburg HS, was the Spartans’ top golfer for most of the 2006-07 season. Playing in all 10 tournament, she recorded five Top 20 finishes, including a season-best tie for 10th place at the Lady Pirate Invitational back in October. She shot a career-best 69 in the final round of the opening tournament of the season, the Cougar Classic in Charleston, SC.

Mylton placed 14th at this past weekend’s Southern Conference Championship. After carding an 82 on the opening day while battling a fierce wind, she bounced back to record a 74 on the final day to help the Spartans to a fourth-place finish at the tournament.
