Mylton and Parrott tied for 10th, UNCG seventh after opening round at Pinehurst

PINEHURST, N.C. – Ashley Mylton and Ashley Parrott are both sitting in 10th place to help UNC Greensboro to a seventh-place team standing after the first round at the Pinehurst Challenge being played on Pinehurst No. 8.

The tournament was shortened to 36 holes when only 18 holes were played Monday due to a frost delay. Play did not begin until late morning, preventing teams from playing two rounds on Monday.

Parrott played the front nine the best of all of the golfers on Monday, making the turn in 35. But she shot a 42 on the backside to sit four shots behind first round leader Ashley Lambert of Richmond. Mylton went out in 39 and came back with a 38 on the back nine.

East Carolina has the team lead, two shots better than tournament host College of Charleston and four shots better than North Carolina State.

Teams will play the final 18 holes on Tuesday beginning at 9 am.
