Spartans wrap-up 11th place finish at Taco Bell Intercollege; Mylton finishes 14th

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Ashley Mylton fired an even-par 72 on Sunday to rally to a Top 20 finish and help UNC Greensboro to an 11th place finish at the Taco Bell Intercollegiate women’s golf tournament.

Mylton had two birdies, two bogeys and 14 pars to finish even for the day and six-over for the tournament, which was good for 14th place, individually. Only four players out of the 112 that played on Sunday carded better scores and all of them were only one shot better.

The Spartans finished 11th as a team with a tournament tally of 905. Augusta State rallied to shoot 292 on the final day to finish at 875 and win the team title by five shots over Georgia State. On the heels of two sub-par rounds, Maryland’s Katie Stephanek struggled on Sunday, but held on to shoot 75 and claim the individual title by four shots over Augusta State’s Emilie Geury.

Along with Mylton’s Top 20 finish, freshman Jennifer Link finished in a tie for 34th after shooting a 77 on Sunday.
