Link's 72 leads UNCG in first round at Taco Bell Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Freshman Jennifer Link shot an even-par 72 on Friday to sit in a tie for 13th after the first round at the Taco Bell Intercollegiate women’s golf tournament hosted by East Carolina at Bradford Creek Golf Club.

Link was three under par with seven holes to play on Friday, sitting near the top of the leaderboard. However, she bogeyed three of the remaining holes to finish even par and sit six shots behind first round leader Ashley Hovda of Western Carolina. Link is three shots out of second place.

UNCG sits in a tie for 11th place after carding a team score of 300 on Friday, 16 shots behind tournament leader Western Carolina.

The second round is slated to get underway Saturday at 8 am.
