Schmidt's final round 72 paces UNCG to 11th place at Lady Paladin Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Jenna Schmidt fired even-par 72 in Sunday’s third and final round to lead UNC Greensboro to an 11th place finish at the Lady Paladin Intercollegiate hosted by Furman University.

The Spartans carded a team score of 304 on Sunday, which tied for the fourth-best team round of the day. Schmidt shot an even-par 72 to finish tied for 32nd, individually. Her finish was remarkable considering she opened with an 85 on Friday before coming back to shoot 10 shots better on Saturday and then completed the rally with her par round on Sunday. She began Sunday in 64th place and improved her place 32 spots by the end of the day.

Gabby DiMora had UNCG’s best overall tournament score, tying for 21st place with a tournament total 229. Ashley Mylton also finished 32nd, equaling Schmidt’s tournament total of 232.

Furman won the team title by five shots over Mississippi State. South Florida’s Christina Jones ralled from a three-shot deficit to take the individual title by one shot over TCU’s Camille Blackerby.

UNCG returns to action next weekend when it plays in East Carolina’s Lady Pirate Intercollegiate.
