PINEHURST, N.C. – UNC Greensboro finished in seventh place at the Pinehurst Challenge women’s golf tournament, hosted by the College of Charleston at Pinehurst No. 8.
Maryland led the team standings wire-to-wire, carding a team score of 917, to better UNC Wilmington and Mississippi by five shots. UNCG finished with a team score of 943 to finish three shots ahead of SoCon rival College of Charleston.
The Spartans were led by Ashley Mylton, who finished in a tie for 18th at 234. It was the fourth Top 20 finish this season for the sophomore from Charlotte, NC.
UNC Wilmington’s Michelle Jarman took individual honors for the second straight year. She shot a final-round 71 to rally from a difficult second round and win the title by two shots over College of Charleston’s Angie Hill.
The Spartans return to action on Friday, March 31 when they co-host the Bryan National at Bryan Park Golf Club.
