Storylines

• UNCG closes the book on a three-game homestand and kicks off the second half of Southern Conference play when it hosts Davidson at Fleming Gymnasium on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

• The Spartans went 6-4 in their first run through the SoCon, while Davidson is 3-6 in league play. The Wildcats' game against Furman on Jan. 10 was postponed, so Davidson has not yet faced all 10 SoCon foes.

• Last time out, UNCG fell to Appalachian State on Saturday, 83-72. Amanda Leigh shook off a recent shooting slump to score a season-high 26 points and Monique Floyd added 20, but the Apps outscored UNCG 60-14 in the paint and scored 34 points off 23 UNCG turnovers for the win. Sophomore Dayshaun Richbow matched her career high with nine assists.

• UNCG shot 56.7 percent (17-for-30) in the second half Saturday and finished 28-for-56 for a season-best 50.0 percent for the game.

• Coupled with a loss to Elon on Jan. 22, the App State loss marked the second set of back-to-back SoCon losses for the Spartans after starting the season 5-0 in league play. UNCG dropped consecutive league games at Chattanooga and Samford before reboudning with a win over College of Charleston on Jan. 15.

• The Spartans have lost four of five since a season-best six-game winning streak from Dec. 11 through Jan. 5.

• UNCG leads the series with Davidson 28-13. The Wildcats have won five of the last seven, but the Spartans took a 59-58 win on Dec. 31, 2010, to snap Davidson's two-game winning streak in the series.

• Leigh scored a game-high 18 points and the Spartans forced a critical turnover with less than 2 seconds left as UNCG downed Davidson 59-58 on Dec. 31. Freshman Janae' Stevenson narrowly missed her second career double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Davidson was led by Laura Murray's 14 points, while Kristen Johnsen added 12 and Sophia Aleksandravicius had 10 points and nine rebounds.

• Floyd leads UNCG in scoring and rebounding at 13.8 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per contest, just percentage points ahead of Stevenson's 5.9 rebounds per game average. Leigh is UNCG's second-leading scorer at 12.2 points per game. Floyd, who leads the SoCon and is 17th nationally with a 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio, dishes off a team-best 3.4 assists per game. Richbow leads UNCG with 2.0 steals per game.

• Several Spartans are making moves in the UNCG record book. With a blocked shot against App State on Saturday, Kendra Smith moved into sole possession of 10th on the career blocked shots list with 44. With one against App, Stevenson moved into a tie for 13th in single-season blocked shots with 22. Floyd is just one steal from moving into the top 10 for her career, as she currently has 167.

• Floyd was named the SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. The senior leisure services management major owns a 3.79 grade point average and scored 18 points in a 50-45 win over College of Charleston in the Spartans' lone game of the week, on Jan. 15.

• Davidson has won two of its three after a stretch in which it lost six of seven. The Wildcats picked up a 71-62 win over Samford on Jan. 16 before falling to App State on Wednesday, 83-66. Davidson rebounded with its biggest win of the season, an 80-50 road romp over Wofford on Saturday.

• Of Davidson's three SoCon wins, two of them have been Wildcat blowouts. In addition to Saturday's 30-point win over Wofford, Davidson also destroyed College of Charleston on Jan. 3, 69-40.

• Aleksandravicius had a double-double by halftime and finished with 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Wildcats past Wofford on Saturday. Laura Murray finished with 14 points, while Jasmine Calin had 11 off the bench.

• Aleksandravicius leads Davidson and is third in the league in scoring at 17.4 points per game. She also leads the Wildcats and is second in the SoCon with 8.2 rebounds per game and paces the league and is eighth in the nation with 3.4 blocked shots per game. Murray also scores in double figures with 11.6 per game. Barbara Sitton leads the team with 1.9 steals per game.

• As a team, Davidson leads the league in field goal percentage defense (.371). The Wildcats are second in the SoCon in free throw percentage (.749, 25th nationally) and scoring defense (59.3 points per game).
