Jasmine Dixon named Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, SC – UNC Greensboro senior forward Jasmine Dixon was named Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week it was announced Thursday.

Dixon graduated last May with a 4.0 grade point average in Communications and African American Studies and is currently working towards her master’s degree. The Reston, VA native, was also inducted into UNCG’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, a national academic honor society.  

Dixon tallied her first career double-double with a team-high 16 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in a 77-70 loss to UNC Asheville on Nov. 24. Dixon also set new career high’s in field goals (6), field goals attempted (9), assists (3) and minutes played (31).

She is second on the team in field goal percentage with .450, free throw attempts with 3.9 per game and scoring average with 6.8 points per game. Dixon leads the team with 5.8 rebounds per game.

The Spartans are next in action Dec. 3 when they head to High Point, NC, to take on backyard rival, High Point. First tip is set for 7 pm in the Millis Center.
