Kristen Boone to sit out 2007-08 season

GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro women’s basketball head coach Lynne Agee announced that senior guard Kristen Boone will sit out the remainder of this season after suffering a season-ending knee injury.

“We are absolutely devastated that Kristen suffered this injury,” Agee said. “You cannot replace a player like Kristen Boone and we are going to be depending on some of our younger players to step up and perform at a high level this year.’

Boone, who is approaching 1,000 career points, is a three-time All-Southern Conference selection and was named Preseason Player of the Year in 2006-07.  The Upper Marlboro, MD native will apply for a medical hardship waiver.
