Italy Update: A farewell postcard
UNCGSpartans.com will provide complete coverage of the men's and women's basketball teams' summer trip to Italy, including coverage of games and internet postcards by Kyle Hines and Kristen Boone.
With a time difference of six hours, the teams arrived in Milan at 3 am ET Tuesday morning (9 am local). They boarded a bus to Lake Como, where they will spend the first two days of the trip. On Wednesday, Kristen Boone will be the first to send her e-mail postcard back to the states. Fans can read the postcards daily in the Greensboro News & Record and here on-line at UNCGSpartans.com.

May 14 - Bus from the UNCG campus to Atlanta, departing at approximately 8:30 am. Depart Atlanta at 5:30 pm ET.
May 15 - Arrive in Milan at 9 am local time. Bus to Lake Como on the Italian-Swiss border. Spend afternoon sightseeing and evening sightseeing. Today's postcard will be by Kristen Boone.
May 16 - The men's team will spend the morning in Lake Como, while the women's team will spend its morning at Lake Garda. That night, UNCG's men will face Ignus, while the women will take on NewPolibasket San Bonifacio. (Click here for the story on the games).

May 17 - After breakfast, the teams will depart for Venice. After being dropped off at the Tronchetto, the teams will venture to St. Mark's Square via boat. The teams will has a guided tour of the city in the early afternoon before the women take on Thermal Abano that night. (Click here for a story from that game).
May 18 - The teams will bus down the Adriatic Coast to the soverign country of San Marino. After checking into their new hotel and doing a little sightseeing, the UNCG men take on the Croatian professional team KK Rovinj in Flori. (Click here for a story on that game).
May 19 - After breakfast, the teams will tour San Marino, exploring the steep streets, banned to all but pedestrians, and climbing through castles around the city.
May 20 - The teams will bus to the city of Florence after breakfast, arriving shortly after 12 noon. The women's team will face Castellani in Pontedera that evening. (Click here for the story from that game).
May 21 - The teams will spend the day in Florence, including a guided tour of the city in the morning. The tour will include Domo, Pontevechio, Piazza Signoria and S. Croce. The teams will have the afternoon to shop the market and sightsee on their own. Today's postcard will be by Kristen Boone.
May 22 - After breakfast, the teams will board their bus for a journey to Rome. An afternoon guided tour will include a journey to the Colosseum. That evening, the men will take on College Italia in their final game (Click here for the story from that game). Today's postcard will be by Kyle Hines.
May 23 - The teams will spend their final full day in Italy in Rome, starting the day with a tour of the Vatican. That afternoon, players from both teams will be free to sightsee on their own. Today's postcard will be by Kyle Hines and Kristen Boone.
May 24 - The teams will board their return flight at 10:15 am local time and land in Atlanta at approximately 3:30 pm. They will bus back to Greensboro that evening.
