STARKVILLE, Miss. – UNCG's softball team was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Academic Team for 2010-11, while five student-athletes were named All-America Scholar Athletes, the NFCA announced Friday.

Coach Jennifer Herzig's UNCG squad ranked 118th nationally among Division I programs with a 3.070 grade point average for the 2010-11 academic year. UNCG was one of just two Southern Conference teams to make the list of All-Academic Teams, five spots ahead of College of Charleston.

Individually, 2011 graduate Kayla Hensley was named an All-America Scholar Athlete for the fourth time in her career, while fellow 2011 grad Kristen Gabel and current team members Eileen Horsmon, Josie Felix and Toni MacReynolds earned the honor for the first time each.
