Two Spartans earn SoCon February Athletes of the Month

SPARTANBURG, SC – The Southern Conference announced Thursday that UNC Greensboro’s Joe Lowe and Adriane Audley were each awarded SoCon February Athlete of the Month in their respective sports.

Lowe, the senior from Lakeland, FL, finished the regular season in February with a perfect 14-0 dual record, including 5-0 in SoCon action at 174 lbs. On Feb. 10, Lowe recorded a 7-3 decision over The Citadel’s Darius Caldwell to finish conference play undefeated. He went on to tally a technical fall over Randy Goodman of NC State on Feb. 15, a major decision over Duke’s John Barone on Feb. 17 and recorded another technical fall over Liberty’s Joseph Son on Feb. 21.

Audley, the senior from Allen, TX, recorded 21 hits on 54 at bats for a .389 average to lead UNCG to a 9-8 record in February. The senior tallied 15 RBI and recorded five doubles, a triple and four homeruns in 17 games for the Spartans. Audley led UNCG to an 11-4 victory over Campbell on Feb. 20 by going 4-for-4 with four RBI, including two doubles and a triple.

One athlete is chosen from each of the following sports: men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, men’s and women’s golf, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and wrestling.
