Spartans set to compete at Elon Invitational on Saturday
GREENSBORO, N.C. – After a great opening weekend at the Guilford Cross Country Carnival, the UNCG cross country team returns to action this weekend at the Elon Invitational on Saturday.
The women's 5k race will begin at 9 a.m., while the men's 8k race is set to begin at 9:45 a.m. Both the start and finish of the race will be at the Elon Intramural Fields, with the awards ceremony to follow both races at 10:30 a.m.
The Spartans will be joined at the meet by Elon, North Carolina A&T, Lenior-Rhyne and Catawba.
Two weeks ago, the UNCG women's team won the Guilford Cross Country Carnival and senior Michelle Chewens took home top individual honors.
The men's team also had a nice finish as they came in second place and had five runners finish in the top-10.
