UNCG announces 2010 cross country schedule

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG cross country coach Linh Nguyen announced his schedule for the upcoming 2010 season on Wednesday, which is highlight by nine meets.

The Spartans will kick off the season right down the road at the Guilford College XC Carnival on Sept. 4 before traveling to the Elon Invitational on Sept. 18.

UNCG will then have two weeks off before returning to action as a split squad. Part of the team will head to the Great Louisville Classic on Oct. 2, while the other part of the team will stay in Greensboro to compete in the Hagan Stone XC Classic.

The Spartans will then have their final tune-up for the Southern Conference Championships will be at the Royal Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, N.C. on Oct. 15. Two weeks later, they will travel to Boone, N.C. to compete in the Southern Conference Championships.

After the SoCon Championships, UNCG will travel down the road to Cary, N.C. for the Wolfpack Invitational on Nov. 6 and then head to Louisville, Ky. for the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship. The Spartans will wrap up the season on Nov. 22 at the NCAA National Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.

The team will report for the first day of practice beginning on Aug. 17.
