CENTREVILLE, VA and GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro’s men’s and women’s cross country teams raced at two meets on Saturday. The Spartans ran at the Mason Invitational at Bull Run Park in Centreville, VA and at the Hagan Stone Classic in Greensboro. At the Mason Invitational, the women, who were racing in their first 6K of the season, were sixth with 224 points, while the men took fifth with 178 points. Meanwhile, at the Hagan Stone Classic, UNCG's men's team finished sixth in the team standings.

Spartan men place fifth, women finish ninth at Asics Winthrop Invitational
ROCK HILL, SC – Competing in the Gold Division, UNC Greensboro’s men’s cross country team finished fifth and the women’s team took ninth at the Asics Winthrop Invitational on Saturday in Rock Hill, SC. The men’s team totaled 137 points. The women’s team compiled 236 points.

GREENSBORO, NC – The UNC Greensboro athletic department announced the part-time assistant coaching addition to the cross country team. Nicolas Vaccaro has been added as an assistant in the cross country and track programs.

UNCG men place fifth, women take eighth at Eye Opener Invitational
SPARTANBURG, SC – UNC Greensboro’s men’s cross country team placed fifth and the women were eighth at the Eye Opener Invitational at Milliken Research Park as the Spartans opened the 2008 season on Saturday, Sept. 6. The men totaled 108 points. The women compiled 237 points.

UNCG men tied for fourth, women picked ninth in SoCon Preseason Poll
GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro’s men’s cross country team tied with Davidson for fourth, while the women’s team was picked to finish ninth in the Southern Conference Cross Country Preseason Polls, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday, Aug. 26. On the men’s side, the Spartans and Davidson both received 70 points. Meanwhile, UNCG’s women’s team totaled 37 points.
