Twenty-six UNCG student-athletes take Academic All-SoCon honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Twenty-six UNC Greensboro student-athletes earned spots on the Spring Academic All-Southern Conference Team, the league office announced recently. The team included 320 student-athletes from all 12 member schools, representing the sports of men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's outdoor track and field, baseball and softball.

To be eligible, student-athletes had to own a 3.2 cumulative grade point average entering the spring semester.

UNCG's softball team led the way for the Spartans with six selections, followed by men's outdoor track and field with five and women's golf and women's tennis with four each. Men's golf had three honorees, women's outdoor track and field had two and baseball and men's tennis had one each.

Fourteen of the 26 UNCG student-athletes sported a 3.5 gpa or better, led by women's golfer Sofia Aidemark's 3.92 effort.
