RALEIGH, NC – The UNC Greensboro track and field team had three Top 20 finishes and had three personal records set on the women’s side to close action at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday.
The Spartans were led by Sherrika Jordan’s 13th place finish in the 1500 meter run. The Charlotte, NC native posted a 4:53.03 and broke her previous personal record by over 10 seconds. The UNCG women also set two other personal records in the 1500 meters. Mary Ann Rutz ran a 5:13.08 while Courtney Fawcett posted a 5:15.66.
Robert Belcher was the top finisher on the men’s side, taking a 14th place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase while the 4 x 800 relay took a 13th place finish with a time of 8:00.86. UNCG had three men in the 1500 meter run and was led by Josh Wyatt who took 47th place with a time of 4:17.20. Lincoln Bennett and Patrick O'Connor rounded out the UNCG contingent with times of 4:19.31 and 4:40.62, respectively.
The Spartans will continue outdoor action at the Duke Invitational next weekend.
