D'Amours, Ruppe set personal bests as UNCG closes out track season

DURHAM, NC – In her final race as a Spartan, Naomi D'Amours trimmed nearly 30 seconds off of her personal record in the 5000 meters to highlight UNC Greensboro’s action at the Duke Asics Twilight meet Sunday night.

D’Amours, a senior from Fayetteville, NC, crossed the line in 19:15.91, 27.68 seconds better than her previous mark.

On the men’s side, Nick Vaccaro recorded UNCG’s lone Top 10 finish, placing eighth in the 1500 meters with a mark of 3:57.92, less than a second off of his personal record. Justin Ruppe did log a personal best in the 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing the course in 10:02.66.
