CHARLOTTE, NC – Xavier Rutz broke his own school record in the 3000 meters on his way to a third place finish to highlight UNC Greensboro’s second day at the 49er Classic track and field meet on Saturday.
Rutz, a junior from Cary, NC, crossed the line in 8:38.42, trimming 12 one-hundredths of a second off of the record he set in the same meet last year.
Highlighting the women’s action on Saturday, Jess Weber finished 18th in the 3000 meters in a time 11:04.28.
UNCG returns to action next weekend at the Wake Forest Open.
