Williams takes 800 meters as UNCG begins action at Niswonger Foundation Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, TN – Jeff Williams made it 2-for-2 on the indoor track season, picking up a win once again in the 800 meters at the 2007 Niswonger Foundation Invitational track meet held at the Mini-Dome on the campus of East Tennessee State University.

Williams, a senior from South Plainfield, NJ, ran a time of 1:54.50 to win by nearly a full second over Edgar Bermudez of Saint Augustine’s. Furman’s Patrick Morgan was third.

Williams also won his first 800 meter race of the season two weeks ago in Chapel Hill, NC.

He was the only Spartan to compete in Friday’s action. The remainder of the squad will compete in events throughout the day on Saturday.
