UNCG claims fourth seed for SoCon Championship
GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG will be the fourth seed in this week's Southern Conference Men's Tennis Championship in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. The Spartans earned a first-round bye and will face fifth-seeded Furman in the quarterfinals on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the College of Charleston Tennis Center at Patriots Point.
UNCG finished the regular season 9-12 overall and 6-4 in league play, while the Paladins went 8-14-1 overall and 5-4-1 in the SoCon. The Spartans topped Furman 5-2 in Greenville, S.C., on March 23.
The squads also met in the quarterfinals of last year's tournament, with Furman taking a 4-1 win.
UNCG last won the SoCon tournament in 2010.
