Seyrek ranked 11th in Carolina Region by ITA

SKILLMAN, N.J. – UNCG senior Orcun Seyrek is ranked 11th in the Carolina Region in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings, the ITA announced Tuesday.

Seyrek went 3-4 in the fall. A three-time All-Southern Conference first-team pick in singles, the Istanbul, Turkey, native won two of his last three singles matches to end the fall. Seyrek topped opponents from Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian and Winthrop.

He participated in the ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., on Oct. 3, earning a spot in the qualifying draw. Seyrek advanced to the Round of 16 at the USTA/ITA Carolinas Regional Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C., in mid-October.

Seyrek and the Spartans open the spring slate on Jan. 28 against Tennessee Tech in Memphis, Tenn.
