Two Spartans join Seyrek in second round at ITA
DURHAM, N.C. – UNCG had five players begin singles play at the ITA Carolinas Regional on Friday and two moved on to the round of 64 after recording victories in opening round action.
Ahmet Sapioglu and Yaroslav Litus moved on to join Orcun Seyrek, who had an opening round bye as the No. 13 seed, in second round action on Saturday. Sapioglu rallied defeated Zach Hunter, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, to move on, while Litus upset Clemson's Wesley Moran, 7-5 and 6-3.
Timion Meijs, Zach Reece and Chanon Varapongsittikul lost opening round matches on Friday and will move into the consolation bracket on Saturday.
