Spartans play host to UNCG Fall Tennis Invitational beginning Friday
GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNCG begins its 2009-10 men's tennis season on Friday by playing host to six other teams for the UNCG Fall Tennis Invitational.
The Spartans will be joined by conference foes Elon and Chattanooga, along with Longwood, Gardner-Webb, Belmont and Lees-McRae for this weekend's tournament. Singles play will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, while the opening round of doubles will take place on Friday afternoon. There will be three flights of singles play and two flights of doubles.
The top flight of singles will feature two of the nation's preseason ranked players. UNCG's Orcun Seyrek is ranked at No. 95 in the ITA's preseason Top 125, while Longwood's Nobuyoshi Tanaka is ranked No. 101. Seyrek is the No. 1 seed in the bracket, while Tanaka is seeded No. 2.
