Seyrek wins a pair to earn spot in Round of 16 at ITA Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Orcun Seyrek won twice to advance to Sunday's Round of 16 to highlight UNC Greensboro's second day of action at the ITA Carolinas Regional.

Seyrek, seeded eighth, downed Illia Ziamtsov from UNC Wilmington to begin the day. The sophomore from Istanbul, Turkey lost the first set but then won the next two by scores of 6-4 and 6-2. He had another three-setter in the Round of 32, defeating Furman's Sawyer Duncan, 6-1, 1-6, 7-6 with a 7-3 score in the decisive tie-breaker.

Arsel Kumdereli lost in the second round on Sunday, falling to 17th-seeded Evgeny Slesarev from Gardner-Webb by identical 6-1 scores.
