GREENSBORO, N.C.- UNC Greensboro raised its record to 5-1 on the spring season with a convincing 7-0 win over in-state rival Charlotte in men's tennis action Sunday evening at Starmount Country Club.
The Spartans won all three doubles matches and swept through four of the six singles matches in straight sets to wrap up their second win in as many days. Timion Meijs, Kyle Eddins and William John preserved the shutout by rallying from down a set to win in third-set tiebreakers. Each moved up a slot in the line-up after Yaroslav Litus was scratched from singles play.
Jacob Wright had the most impressive win of the evening. Wright topped Mortiz Bornhoester, 6-2 and 6-0.
The Spartans return to action next Sunday when it hosts Longwood for a 1 p.m. match back on the UNCG campus.
