CHARLESTON, S.C. - Orcun Seyrek cruised to his eighth consecutive win to help to UNC Greensboro to a 5-2 win over The Citadel in Southern Conference men's tennis action Tuesday afternoon.
Seyrek defeated Yufo Sutantio, 6-1 and 6-3, at No. 1 singles to raise his mark to 8-1 this spring and 17-4 overall this season. His win was one of three easy victories for the Spartans in singles play, who raised their record to 8-2 overall, 2-0 in SoCon play.
Jacob Wright handled Josh Cook, 6-2 and 6-1, No. 3 singles, while Tiimion Meijs also raised his mark to 8-1 this spring with an easy 6-3, 6-2 victory over Derek Dickey at No. 5 singles. Meijs is now 16-5 on the season.
Wright and Seyrek also teamed up to clinch the doubles point as the Spartans won two of three matches.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday when they visit College of Charleston for another league match at 1 p.m.
