WILMINGTON, N.C. - Timion Meijs won a three-set thriller in a consolation draw match, but it was the only win of the day for UNC Greensboro as play concluded at the UNC Wilmington Fall Invitational.
Meijs earned what wound up to be UNCG's final win of the fall season when he defeated Guy Kubi of Winthrop, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, in a Flight B consolation bracket match-up.
Orcun Seyrek and Jacob Wright both lost in straight sets in their respective flight finals. In the Flight A final, Seyrek lost to Michael Pereira of UNC Wilmington, who had won his suspended semifinal match over UNCG's Arsel Kumdereli earlier in the day. Wright lost to Ryan Ybarra of UNC Wilmington in the Flight C final.
In addition, Wright and Yaroslav Litus dropped an 8-6 decision to Cody Stauffer-MacDowell and Alex Crockford of Elon in the Flight B doubles final.
The Spartans resume their schedule in February.
