Spartans earn spots in three Sunday finals at UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Orcun Seyrek earned a spot in the singles flight A finals and he awaits a possible match-up with teammate Arsel Kumdereli on Sunday at the UNC Wilmington Fall Invitational men's tennis tournament.

Seyrek topped UNC Wilmington's Kinshuk Sharma in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-3, to earn a spot in Sunday's final. Kumdereli's match with Michael Pereira was suspended by darkness. Pereira won the first set, 7-5, and the second set was even at 4-4 when the match was halted. It will be resumed tomorrow.

Jacob Wright and Yaroslav Litus earned a spot in the flight B doubles final, defeating Winthrop's Luke Stanic and Andrea Merg, 8-1. Wright will also play in the flight C singles final on Sunday after beating UNCW's Anton Nikolov by identical 6-3 scores.

William John and Timion Meijs finished third in the Flight A bracket, winning the consolation final over NC State's Will Rollinson and David Chermak, 8-5.
