UNCG holds on to beat Georgia Southern, stays perfect in SoCon

STATESBORO, Ga.  - UNC Greensboro stayed unbeaten in Southern Conference men's tennis action on Saturday, hanging on for a 4-3 win at Georgia Southern.

Orcun Seyrek won his 16th straight match and his 50th in his two seasons at UNCG, toppling J. Melian Puigventos ini a three-setter to clinch the match. Puigventos won the first set, 6-4, before Seyrek rallied to win the next two sets, 6-2 and 6-4, to keep UNCG perfect in league play at 8-0. Seyrek is now 50-9 in singles play in the last two season. He is 25-4 this season after going 25-5 last season on his way to SoCon Player of the Year honors.

Arsel Kumderel and Jacob Wright also earned singles victories, while Kumdereli and Seyrek combined for one of two doubles victories to claim the doubles point.

UNCG, 15-3 overall, will face College of Charleston on Sunday in a battle of conference unbeatens.
