UNCG cruises past Navy for 6-1 win

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - UNC Greensboro won five of the six singles match in straight sets and squeaked by in two of three doubles pro-sets to top host Navy, 6-1, in men's tennis action on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans raised their mark to 3-1 on the season and came home from their northern weekend road swing with a split. Yaroslav Litus and Kyle Eddins had the easiest wins of the day. Litus won at No. 4 singles over Jermey New, 6-3 and 6-2. Eddins, playing at No. 6 singles, topped Matt Richmond by identical 6-3 scores.

Arsel Kumdereli, Orcun Seyrek and Timion Meijs also earned straight-set wins for the Spartans. Kumdereli and Seyrek also clinched the doubles point when they won a tie-breaker over Owen Bullard and Eddie Konrad, 7-5.

The Spartans return to action next Saturday when they host UNC Asheville at Starmount Forest Country Club's new indoor facility. Start time is set for 6 p.m.
