SPARTANBURG, SC - UNC Greensboro No. 1 singles
player Orcun Seyrek has been named Men's Tennis Player of the
Month for the month of March.
For the month, Seyrek went 9-0, including 5-0 in SoCon play, to
help lead the Spartans to their best start in SoCon play (5-0)
since 2001. The freshman also went 7-2 in doubles play with
teammate Aresl Kumdereli, including 4-1 in conference matches.
Currently, Seyrek, a freshman from Istanbul, Turkey, has won 12
straight matches and is 21-3 overall on the season. He is 16-1
during the spring season, including 7-0 during Southern Conference
play.
The Spartans return to action Saturday afternoon when they host
Georgia Southern for a 12 noon match.
