CHAPEL HILL, NC – UNC Greensboro's Orcun Seyrek won an opening round match, but lost in the second round as play began at the ITA Regional men's tennis tournament on the campuses of University of North Carolina and Duke University.
Seyrek topped Coastal Carolina's Joseph Withers by identical 6-2 scores to open the tournament. In the second round, he jumped out on Duke's Jared Pinsky 6-2 in the first set, but lost the next two by scores of 6-0 and 6-4.
In other action, Andrey Bubnov lost in three sets to Coastal Carolina's Dmitry Vlaskin, while Arsel Kumdereli lost to Brandon Corace of Virginia Tech. In doubles action, Bubnov and Yaroslav Litus lost to Elon's Chase Helpingstine and Alberto Rojas by an 8-3 score.
UNCG will wrap up the fall portion of its schedule at the UNCW Invitational next weekend.
