CHATTANOOGA, TN – Five UNC Greensboro men's tennis players will play in championship matches on Sunday, the final day of the Baras Collegiate Tennis Tournament.
Arsel Kumdereli will face Belmont's Rodrigo Amaral in the Flight
A2 singles final on
Sunday.
Andrey Bubnov, seeded second in the A1 flight, topped Jacksonville
State's Eduardo Saratt, 6-4 and 6-3, to earn a spot in the finals.
Arsel Kumdereli, seeded fourth in the A2 flight, defeated
second-seeded Dan Cornei from UAB, 6-2 and 6-2.
In the B1 flight, Orcun Seyrek won his semifinal over Alex Emery of UAB, 6-2 and 6-3. In B2 flight, third-seeded William John rallied to beat top-seed Ed Pinto of Virginia Tech, 5-7, 6-4, 7-5. In the last flight, C1, Kyle Eddins earned a spot in the finals by defeating Carlos Cardenas of North Alabama, 6-3 and 6-4.
Kumdereli and Seyrek missed on a chance to play for a doubles title, as well, on Sunday, falling to Alex Emery and Brian Ly of UAB, 8-3, in Doubles Flight A1.
Play at the tournament concludes on Sunday.
