UNCG opens play at UNCW Fall Invitational

GREENSBORO, NC – Andrey Bubnov defeated Aleksey Kochetov in a three-set thriller to highlight UNC Greensboro's opening day of action at the UNCW Fall Invitational on Friday.

Bubnov defeated Kochetov, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the opening round of Flight A-2 competition and the tournament. He also teamed up with Yaroslav Litus for two doubles win.

William John and Jacob Wright were also victorious twice in doubles action in Flight B to gain a bid in the other semifinal of that bracket. Litus and Arsel Kumdereli were also victorious in singles Flight B-1 action.

Play continues on Saturday morning weather permitting.
