HANOVER, NH – Jacob Wright's three-set win at No. 5 singles wrapped it up as UNC Greensboro won its spring season opener, 4-3, at Dartmouth in men's tennis action Friday night.
Jacob Wright's win at No. 5 singles gave UNCG a 4-3 win over Dartmouth on Friday night.
Wright, a freshman from Asheville, NC, toppled Chris Ho by a 6-4 score in the third and deciding set. Wright had won the opening set 6-3 and Ho bounced back to win the second, 6-4.
Orcun Seyrek and Arsel Kumdereli also earned straight-set singles wins and UNCG claimed the doubles point by winning two of three doubles pro-sets. Seyrek and Kumdereli teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles, while Andrew Bartelmo and Yaroslav Litus teamed up to win at No. 3.
UNCG returns to action Saturday with a pair of matches at Dartmouth, taking on Army at 9 am and Binghamton at 1 pm.
