ASHEVILLE, NC – UNC Greensboro won all six singles matches in straight sets on its way to a 7-0 shutout of cross-state rival UNC Asheville in men's tennis action Sunday night.
Orcun Seyrek, a freshman from Istanbul, Turkey, moved to 4-0 on the spring slate with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Mauricio Correa at No. 1 singles. Andrey Bubnov, Arsel Kumdereli, Yaroslav Litus, Jacob Wright and Taylor Befus all won in straight sets, as well, as UNCG moved to 3-1 on the spring season.
Seyrek also teamed up with Kumderli for one of UNCG's two doubles wins. The other came from the tandem of William John and Kyle Eddlins.
UNCG returns to action next Sunday when they visit No. 35-ranked NC State for an 11 am match.
