Bubnov and Kumdereli fall in in doubles at ITA Mideast Regional
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Andrey Bubnov and Arsel Kumdereli lost their first match in the main doubles draw at the ITA Mideast Regional Men’s Tennis Tournament, hosted by University of Virginia.
They lost to Michael Coleman and Nickolai Nielsen of Maryland in a pro-set, 8-5. Bubnov had lost in singles action earlier in the day, dropping a three-set match to Florida State’s Maciek Sykut.
In other action, William John and Martin Redelinghuys won their opening round qualifier to advance to the main bracket. However, they lost to 13th seeded Jean-Yves Aubone and Clinton Bowles of Florida State in the opening round of the main bracket.
Action at the tournament resumes Friday morning.
