73rd-ranked Furman blanks UNCG, 7-0, in SoCon men's tennis action

GREENSBORO, NC – No. 73-ranked Furman University won all six singles matches and two of three doubles pro-sets on its way to a 7-0 win over UNC Greensboro in Southern Conference men’s tennis action Sunday afternoon.

UNCG’s lone win of the afternoon can at No. 2 doubles where Andrey Bubnov and Yaroslav Litus won a tie-breaker to top Chris Rhyne and Andrei Chvetstov, 7-4, to pick-up an 8-7 win.

But Furman earned straight-set wins in each of the other six singles matches and the other two doubles pro-sets to come away with the win.

UNCG returns to action on Tuesday when the Spartans host Winston-Salem State at 3:30 pm.
