GREENSBORO, NC – Andrey Bubnov and Arsel Kumdereli picked up wins in singles action, but a pair of three-set wins by High Point gave the Panthers a 5-2 win in men’s tennis action on Wednesday afternoon.
Bubnov topped Charles Bottoni in three sets, dropping the opener, 6-2, before bouncing back in the second to win 7-6, 7-5 in the tiebreaker. Bubnov then won a 10-point tie-breaker, 10-7, to wrap up the win. Kumdereli had a much easier time, topping Julian Antraygues, 6-3 and 6-4, at No. 2 singles.
However, three-set wins by Henri Mangin and Marco Laslaz at Nos. 3 and 4 singles clinched the win for Panthers.
UNCG returns to action on Thursday when they host Winston-Salem State at 3:30 pm.
