CHARLESTON, SC – UNCG’s trio of Andrey Bubnov, Arsel Kumdereli and Yaroslav Litus recorded straight-set victories in singles action, but College of Charleston slipped past the Spartans for a 4-3 win in Southern Conference men’s tennis action.
Bubnov topped Mickael Boyer at No. 1 singles by identical 6-4 scores, while Kumdereli blew past Steven Myers at No. 2 singles, 6-1 and 6-0. Litus, playing at No. 4, topped Christopher Carlton by scores of 6-4 and 6-2. Bubnov and Litus also teamed up to record a doubles win.
However, the Cougars (6-8, 1-2) picked up three straight-set wins of their own in singles play and won the other two doubles’ pro-sets to come away with the win.
