Elon spoils UNCG's SoCon opener, 7-0

GREENSBORO, NC – Elon University extended its SoCon regular season winning streak to 17 straight matches, topping UNC Greensboro, 7-0, in the men’s tennis conference opener for the Spartans.

Elon (9-3, 4-0), which is ranked 66th in the ITA Team Rankings this week, Elon won all six singles matches in straight sets. The Phoenix have not lost a SoCon match since March 2006.

The closest match of the after was at No. 4 singles where Elon’s Alberto Rojas topped UNCG’s Yaroslav Litus, 6-4 and 6-3.

UNCG (1-9, 0-1) continues conference play when it visits The Citadel on Thursday at 1 pm.
