UNCG drops 4-3 decision to Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC – UNC Greensboro won three singles matches on Saturday, but came up on the short end of a 4-3 decision against in-state rival Charlotte.

The Spartans got straight-set wins from Andrey Bubnov and William John, while Yaroslav Litus came back to win a third-set tiebreaker to pick up a win. Bubnov defeated Felix Bernhoerster, 6-4 and 6-1, while John knocked off Ricky Cuellar, 7-6 and 7-5.

UNCG returns to action on Friday when it hosts Winston-Salem State and UNC Asheville in a doubleheader. The Spartans begin the day by facing UNCA at 10:30 am.
