RALEIGH, NC – No. 20 North Carolina State won all six singles matches and three doubles pro-sets on its way to a 7-0 win over UNC Greensboro in men’s tennis action Saturday night.
The Spartans dropped their spring season opener against the 20th-ranked team, but not without a fight. Taylor Befus won the first set at No. 5 singles, topping Frideric Prandecki 7-6, 7-5 in the tiebreaker. However, Prandecki won the second set 6-2 and then won a 10-point tiebreaker, 10-7.
Andrey Bubnov and Arsel Kumdereli also had an impressive spring debut. They lost in a tiebreaker in their doubles pro-set at No. 1, falling 8-7 with a 10-5 score in the tiebreaker.
UNCG will face Clemson on Sunday at 12 noon.
