Clemson tops UNCG, 6-1, in men's tennis action
CLEMSON, SC – Arsel Kumdereli earned a three-set win at No. 4 singles, but UNC Greensboro dropped a 6-1 decision to Clemson on Tuesday night in men’s tennis action.
Kumdereli defeated Carlos Alvarez to earn UNCG’s lone point of the night. He lost the opening set, 6-3, but rallied to win the second, 6-2, and then won a 10-point tiebreaker, 10-3.
UNCG also earned a win on the doubles side when William Adeimy and William John defeated Alvarez and Gera Boryachinskiy, 9-7, at No. 3 doubles. However, the Tigers won the other two doubles matches to earn the point.
UNCG returns to action on Thursday when the Spartans travel to face in-state rival Charlotte in the final match of a four-match road swing. Start time is set for 2 pm.
