GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro won three singles matches and two of three doubles pro-sets – both in tiebreakers – to snap a defeat East Carolina, 4-3, and snap a four-match losing skid.
The Spartans, who last won back on March 2, raised their record to 5-9 on the season. East Carolina (6-9) had a two-match winning streak snapped.
All six singles matches were decided in straight sets, with each team winning three. Andrey Bubnov, Martin Redelinghuys and William Adeimy recorded wins for UNCG. Bubnov notched his team-leading 10th win of the season, including five this spring, with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Aleksy Kochetov at No. 1 singles.
The Spartans return to action this weekend when they visit Wofford on Saturday and Furman on Sunday.
