UNCG falls to Dartmouth, 5-2
CHAPEL HILL, NC – UNC Greensboro’s Martin Redelinghuys and Arsel Kumdereli won a pair three-set thriller in singles action, but Dartmouth pulled out four singles’ wins and two of the three doubles’ pro-sets to pick-up a 5-2 win in men’s tennis action Saturday night.
Dartmouth won its seventh straight match and moved to 9-1 on the season. UNCG fell to 2-4 on the spring season.
Redlinghuys rallied to defeat Daniel Freeman at No. 2 singles. After dropping the opening set, he rallied to win the second set, 6-3, and then won the 10-point tie-breaker, 10-8.
Arsel Kundereli won the opening set 7-6 over Jeffrey Schechtman, but then lost the second set, 7-6. Kumdereli then rallied to win the 10-point tie-breaker, 12-10, to claim the victory at No. 3 singles.
UNCG returns to action on Sunday when the Spartans visit UNC Asheville.
